Karsivan

It is a yellow tablet which has been on the market for over 12 years. Karsivan is given to pets with cognitive dysfunction.
This medication is a peripheral vasodilator that improves cerebral microcirculation and oxygen supply system.
In other words it allows elderly dogs to enjoy a better quality of life.

Dogs.

Karsivan Contraindications

Do not give to dogs weighing less than 2.5 kg.
Do not give to do dogs with heart disease at an advance stage.

Karsivan Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness)

Some vomiting can occur in the first stage of treatment in rare cases, in extremely rare cases allergic reactions can occur and the treatment may need to be stopped.
Dullness, lethargy and depressed demeanour, decreased willingness to exercise and exercise tolerance, Arryhthmia due to myocardial ischaemia, conditions requiring improved circulation in the heart, brain and skeletal muscle.

Amounts to be administered and administration route

Oral use
5 à 10 mg/kg/day during 4 to 6 weeks, in 2 daily doses with 12h apart.
The tablets can be given directly or mixed with food.
