Niglumine is a solution for injection for cattle, horses and pigs.

Each ml of Niglumine contains:

  • Active substance:

    • Flunixin (meglumine) 50.0 mg (Equivalent to 82.9 mg Flunixin meglumine)
  • List of excipients:

    • Phenol
    • Formaldehyde sodium sulfoxylate dihydrate
    • Disodium edetate
    • Sodium hydroxide Propylene glycol (E1520)
    • Hydrochloric acid
    • Water for injectable preparations

Indications for use of Niglumine, specifying the target species:

  • Cattle: Indicated for acute respiratory inflammation together with appropriate antibiotic treatment to reduce the clinical signs.

  • Horses: Indicated for the relief of inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders in acute to sub-acute states, and for the relief of visceral pain associated with colic.

  • Pigs: Indicated for relief of metritis-mamitis-agalaxia syndrome (MMA) along with antibiotic treatment to reduce clinical signs.

Amounts of Niglumine to be administered:

Cattle:

  • Intravenous route of administration.
  • 2.2 mg Flunixin/kg live weight and day (Equivalent to 2 ml Niglumine/45 kg live weight) intravenously. Repeat administration if necessary at 24 hour intervals up to 3 consecutive days.

Horses:

  • Intravenous route of administration.
  • 1.1 mg of Flunixin/kg live weight and day (equivalent to 1 ml of Niglumine/45 Kg live weight) intravenously at intervals of 24 hours up to 5 consecutive days depending on the response obtained.

Pigs:

  • Intramuscular route of administration.
  • 2,2 mg of Flunixin/kg live weight and day (equivalent to 2 ml of Niglumine/45 kg live weight) per intramuscular route at intervals of 12 hours up to 2 times depending on the response obtained with antibiotic treatment set. To reduce local irritation at the injection site, the injection volume at each injection site should limited to 5 ml.
