Calier
Caliergolin 50 mg/ml - cats and dogs - 24 ml

Treatment for pseudogestation and suppression of lactation in cats and dogs

Prescription required* (Exceptions apply)

Caliergolin is a pale yellow, viscous and oily oral solution for dogs and cats.

Each Caliergolin ml contains:

  • Active substance:

    • Cabergoline 50 micrograms
  • List of excipients:
    • Medium chain triglycerides
    • Oxygen-poor nitrogen

Indications for use of Caliergolin, specifying the target species:

  • Dogs and cats:
    • Treatment of False Gestation in Bitches
    • Suppression of lactation in bitches and cats: suppression of lactation may be necessary under certain clinical circumstances (e.g. after separation of puppies and kittens shortly after birth, followed by early weaning).
  • Do not use on pregnant animals because the veterinary drug may cause an abortion.
  • Do not use with dopamine antagonists.
  • Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to cabergoline or any excipient.
  • The veterinary drug may induce transient hypotension in treated animals. Do not use in animals treated simultaneously with antihypertensive drugs. Do not use directly after surgery while the animal is still under the influence of anesthetic agents.

Amounts of Caliergolin to be administered and administration route:

  • The veterinary medicinal product should be administered orally, either directly in the mouth or by mixing it with food.
  • The dose is 0.1 ml/kg body weight (equivalent to 5 micrograms/kg body weight of cabergoline) once a day for 4-6 consecutive days, depending on the severity of the clinical condition.
  • If the signs do not resolve after a single course of treatment, or if they recur after the end of treatment, then the course of treatment may be repeated.
  • How do I remove the recommended volume from the bottle?
    • Remove the packaging cover from the bottle adapter. Do not remove the adapter from the blister bottle containing it.
    • Connect the adapter to the bottle; use the blister that contains it to handle the adapter. Connect the adapter to the bottle by pushing until the needle penetrates the cap and the adapter snaps into place.
    • Remove and remove the blister.
    • Adjust the syringe to the adapter by pressing it firmly against the adapter to avoid spilling the veterinary drug when removing the dose from the bottle.
    • Remove the drug from the bottle with the syringe, keeping the bottle upside down.
    • Remove the syringe from the adapter.
    • The medicine is now ready for administration.
    • It is recommended to rinse and dry the syringe after each application.
