Virkon s for facilities and equipment 2.5 kg

Disinfection of facilities and equipment

Virkon S is a water soluble powder formulation for installations and equipment disinfection.

Each 100 g of Virkon S contains:

  • Potassium monopersulfate, monopotassium sulfate, potassium sulfate (triple salt) 50 g
  • Dodecylbenzene sulfonate sulphonate 15 g
  • Sulfamic acid 5 g

Virkon S is indicated:

  • Virucidal, bactericidal, fungicidal and sporicidal disinfectant.
  • Disinfection of facilities and equipment in all types of livestock and poultry farms.
  • Processing facilities for eggs, incubators, hatcheries, residences, zoos, veterinary clinics, fish farms and aquariums.

How to use Virkon S:

Apply, previously diluted in water, on the surfaces to be disinfected.

It can be applied by spraying, immersion, misting and thermo-fogging.

  • Routine disinfection: 0.5% (75 g in 15 L of water), at the rate of 300 ml of solution/m2.
  • Before disease outbreaks or on porous surfaces: 1%, at a rate of 300 ml/m2.
  • Cleaning and disinfection of equipment: 1: 100 or 1:200, depending on the degree of soiling. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with water.
  • Disinfection of water systems: Use Virkon S at a dilution of 1 kg/200 liters (0,5%). Close the stopcock between the tank and the pipes. Empty the remaining water from the troughs farthest from the tank. Clean dirt from the tank with a brush if necessary. Fill the tank with the solution of Virkon S and leave to act 10 minutes. Open the stopcock and fill with the solution all the pipes, leaving 20 min. Empty the system solution and fill with water. Return to empty and fill with fresh water.
  • Aerial nebulization in the presence of animals: 1:200 at the rate of 1 liter of solution per 100 m3. The aim is to cut off cross-contamination and reduce the effects of respiratory diseases. Use atomizers so that the droplet size is not less than 50 microns to minimize passage to the respiratory tract of the animal. Ideally the size should range from 100-400 microns. Size of upper droplets persist for a short time in the air and "wet" the surfaces. 2-3 daily applications are recommended in alternate sessions of 10-15 days of treatment and 10-15 days of rest.
  • In incubation plants: Upon receipt of the eggs, nebulize with a solution (38-41°C) of Virkon S at 1:100 at 5-10 seconds for 3m3, sufficient to wet the surface of the eggs. A 1:100 dilution is recommended to disinfect the room surfaces.
  • Nebulization: In the absence of animals at a dilution of 1: 100, at a rate of 1 liter for 100m3.
  • Thermo-fogging: Thermo-fogging is interesting when it is intended disinfect large ships. Prepare a solution with 85 L of water and 15 L of polyethylene glycol. Dilute Virkon S to 1:25 in this solution. One liter of the final solution is sufficient to treat 100m3.
  • Footbath: 1: 100. Renovate weekly or when it is very dirty. Brush the boots with water.
